505,501. Starting. BOSCH GES., R. Nov. 11, 1937, No. 30947. Convention date Dec. 8, 1936. [Class 7 (v)] An engine is started by means of cartridges k fired electrically by current from the distributer c of the normal-running ignition system. As shown, the cartridges k are connected through a switch o to the distributer c in perallel with the sparking plugs d and starting is effected by closing a switch p connecting a battery h through a buzzer g to the low-tension winding c of the ignition magnets. The cartridges k, Fig. 2, are fired by means of a firing pin 14 and electrodes 21 embedded in an igniting agent 22 in an insulating member 20. The firing pin 14 is insulated by a sleeve 15 from members 16, 17 screwed together and fitting in a cartridge chamber i. The switches o, p may be connected for simultaneous operation.
