504,649. Illuminant enclosures. DALGLIESH, K. Dec. 9, 1937, No. 34105. [Class 75 (ii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A clock having optically-projected dial and hands has a movement whereof the main arbor 6, 7 is vertical, one or more optical-projection tubes 11, fitted with lenses 12, 13 and handcarrying bevel wheels 19, 20, being arranged with its major axis radially above the clock movement. The clock numerals are mounted on a stationary glass disc, or may be of skeleton form, and advertising matter may be disposed on the stationary and moving discs, or on an independent interchangeable disc, for opticalprojection along with the time. The system may be mounted in the centre 2 of a chandelier shown in plan in Fig. 2, one of the projecting glass shades 3 of which is open-ended to allow of the clock-projection beam passing out to an external screen. Other of the shades 3 may also be open-ended, and a reflection of the beam may be sent by means of prisms or mirrors therethrough.
