Abstract
504,615. Containers wound from strip material; labels ; printing processes. TREPUR PAPER TUBE CO., Ltd., KANE, W., and TRAPP, A, A. Sept..24, 1937, No. 25929. [Class 99 (ii)]. [Also in Groups XV and XVI] Containers, made by helically winding strip material on a mandrel to form a tube from which the containers are cut, are labelled,by a continuous strip applied during the winding operation and the label has a design arranged on it in sections so that a eomplete design is formed by one turn of the label round the tube. A flat bed or rotary printing unit may be used to print the design on the label and a plurality of units may be used to produce a coloured'design. When a rotary unit is used, the diameter of the printing cylinder may be such that sections for producing several designs may be arranged around its circumference or the width of the drum may be increased so that several strips side by side are printed simultaneously. The strip may be led directly from the printing mechanism to the tube winding apparatus and adhesive applied to one side of it before it is wound on the tube.
