504,468. Flow meters. TALLEY, H. A., and KING, A. C. Oct. 29, 1937, No. 29596. [Class 69 (i)] In a flow meter for gases, in which an apertured plunger 3 surrounds a tapered core 2 in a tube 1, and is raised by the gas passing through the tube, inclined grooves 5 are formed in the peripheral face of a flange 4 on the plunger in order that gas passing through them may cause the plunger to spin and provide a cushion between it and the tube, thereby preventing sticking.
