Abstract

503,799. Ventilators for vehicles. DUTFIELD, A. E., RAWLINGS, E. J., and RAWLINGS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Oct. 20, 1937, No. 28627. [Class 137] A ventilating device for vehicles is formed as a shallow broad box in front with converging side walls 4 uniting with a rounded rear portion 3, the air being drawn up through a tube 6 at the rear and forwardly through two ports 6a therein along two air tunnels 8 separated by a portion 13 within the box, the air passing out through two louvred roof portions 2 at the front separated by a V-partition 12. A front plate 5 and the louvres slope up slightly to the rear and a rear wall 9 slopes either way. The roof 7 of the box slopes slightly downwards. An arcuate space 14 allows rain to escape through an opening 15 at the rear. The device is made of rubber or metal, preferably the outer shell of rubber and the inner parts and louvres of metal.
