Abstract
503,104. Animal - carrying vehicles; doors. JENNINGS & SON, Ltd., J. H., and JENNINGS, J. H. Oct. 23, 1937, No. 29017. [Class 108 (i)] Relates to animalcarrying vehicles of the kind in which an end or part of a side is adapted to fold down to form a loading ramp, and the loading gap is closable by one or more gates formed of jointed horizontal and vertical bars. According to the invention, the or each gate i, j is hinged at its lower outer corner by means of a ball-andsocket joint n, and near its upper edge by a demountable hinge m, so that, after the hinge m is released the or each gate may be swung outwardly and downwardly, as shown in Fig. 1, to form a guard for the edge of the ramp g, the bars which were origirially vertical now being horizontal and vice versa. In the construction shown two gates i, j j are provided and are secured in normal position by a fastening k, and in their position alongside the ramp by staples or peg fastenings o.
