Abstract
502,851. Endless - chain elevators. HERBORT, A. July 9, 1938, Nos. 20349 and 20350. Convention dates, March 29 and April 8. [Class 78 (i)] In a stacking device comprising an endless chain or band elevator 4 provided with forklike platforms 5, boxes, bales, &c. are fed to the platforms by a shoot or a roller track such as 6 which is adjustably pivoted on the elevator frame at 7, and are discharged on a shoot or roller track 12 pivoted on a member 10 which can be adjusted vertically on rollers 10a in a channel 2 by a cable 17a attached to a winding drum 17. Openings are formed in one side of each roller track to permit the passage of the platforms. These fork-like platforms may be formed trough-like. Alternatively, the platforms may each comprise two semicircular parts 25, Fig. 5, secured to parallel chains 26, both sides of the feeding and discharge shoots being cut away in this arrangement to permit the passage of the platforms.
