Abstract

471,353. Endless belt conveyers. TILLETT, F. G. March 1, 1937, No. 6117. [Class 78 (i)] A belt is tensioned by connecting the slidable bearings in which an end roller is mounted to a movable carrier containing one or more weights, one at least of which can be moved along the carrier to vary the stress distribution in the belt. The bearings 8, 9, Fig. 2, for the spindle 7 of the end roller 6 are slidably mounted on guide rods 10, Fig. 1, and are connected by ropes 11, 12 extending over guide pulleys 13, 14 to the ends of a box 15 containing lead weights 17, 17a. The shortest weight 17a can be moved to any position to vary the stress distribution.
