[Class 117] [Also in Groups I and X] A cylindrical sieve 31 is fitted to the feed end of a rotating cylindrical container 30 for storing and treating garbage and has internal blades 5 which lift the material to a shoot 3 discharging into the container. The screened material falls into a pit 9 from which it is removed by blades 6 on the outer periphery of the sieve. The cylinder 30 is supported on rollers 10 and is given a turning movement by a pinion 36 meshing with a toothed ring 37 on the cylinder. A similar sieve 32 may be disposed at the discharge end of the container 30.
