502,029. Vehicle spring-suspensions. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and ISSIGONIS, A. A. Sept. 9, 1937, No. 24584. [Class 108 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXI] In a mounting for an independently - sprung steering- wheel the steering swivel c is connected to each of two parallel-motion links d by a coupling piece g having screwthreaded trunnions h at its ends engaging' screwed bearings k carried by the link d and an internally screwthreaded socket i at its centre engaging a screw thread j on the end of the steering swivel c, the axes of the socket i and the trunnions h being in the same plane. In the construction shown, the suspension links d are of. the wishbone type, the arms of the upper link being connected together by a bolt f, and those of the lower link by a plate e. A lubricating bore m is formed in the coupling g and communicates with a groove n in the socket i. The ends of the trunnions and sockets are sealed by caps o, and rubber or like washers q and sleeves r are provided for excluding dirt. The screw threads on the trunnions h may be of opposite hand.
