Abstract

501,983. Carbon paper; ink; coated fabrics. RINDERKNECHT, H. Sept. 9, 1937, No. 24615. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1936. [Class 100 (iv)] [Also in Groups VIII and XV] Copying paper is manufactured by coating one side of the sheet to be written upon with a thin layer of rubber milk or latex, and the other side with a solution containing latex, a colour which does not precipitate latex and if desired a wetting or dispersing agent. Phenyl # naphthylamine is added to the clear latex. Suitable colours for the colour layer are : lamp or gas black and commercial colours which are free from copper and manganese. Suitable wetting-agents are the condensation products of sulphonated fats with aromatic solvents and fatty alcohol sulplionates. The clear latex may be applied first, and the colour layer may be applied to the other side after the latex has dried; alternatively the sheet is passed through a latex solution and the colour layer is applied after drying.
