Abstract

501,396. Stationery webs. FANFOLD, Ltd., and MURRAY, S. M. Oct. 14, 1938, No. 29860. Addition to 454,479. [Class 16] The stationery web claimed in the parent Specification is modified in that the interleaved transfer slips are replaced by transfer coatings on the undersides of the record slips. The transfer coatings may not extend to the edges of the record slips, and may comprise small areas only which only transfer entries made in particular positions on the top slips. The stationery web shown comprises stacks of record slips 18 having marginal strips 19 bound together by rows of stitches 20, the lowermost record slip of each stack having its edge opposite the bound edge provided with an extension 21 which is attached by adhesive to the upper surface of the next stack along the bound edge of that stack. A line of weakening 22 is formed between the extension 21 and the lowermost record slip 18 to facilitate detachment of the stack. The undersides of the record slips are coated with transfer material only at certain portions 23, 24, such portions being so disposed as to transfer entries made in demarked areas 25, 26 on the upper face of the top record slip. Registering apertures 17 are provided in the marginal strips of the stacks. In a modification wherein the stationery web is constructed with a bottom record strip extending the full length of the stationery stacks, this bottom strip is made wider than the stacks and provided with register perforations in the side edge extensions.
