Abstract

1502143 Making booklets MOORE BUSINESS FORMS Ltd 14 May 1975 [23 May 1974] 20356/75 Heading B6A A web assembly for making booklets comprises at least two and preferably three or more webs, each of which has transverse lines of weakening defining removable units of the same size, each web also having lines of cohesive material which abut when the webs or units therefrom are superimposed, to form booklets when slit along longitudinal lines. Second webs and third webs, providing the intermediate units of the assembly shown in Fig. 8, have spaced, longitudinal lines of cohesive 17, 18, 17<SP>1</SP>, 18<SP>1</SP> on the top surface thereof and offset, spaced, longitudinal lines of cohesive 21, 22, 21<SP>1</SP>, 22<SP>1</SP> on the bottom surface thereof, the second webs being mirror images of the third webs. First webs, providing top and bottom cover units, have spaced, longitudinal lines of cohesive 33, 34 on only one surface thereof. Thus units from the same web may be stacked without sticking to each other, Fig. 7 (not shown), and each web may also be wound up without sticking. The webs, or units separated therefrom, may be assembled as shown in Fig. 8, the lines of cohesive on adjacent webs or units, registering with each other to form bonds. The assembly is separated along lines 29, 13, 13a to form booklets. Alternatively, a plurality of either the second or the third webs may be folded along lines 13 or 13a, stacked, and covered by a folded first web as shown in Fig. 10. When separated along lines 29 and 13 or 13a, booklets are formed.
