500,862. Electric travelling crabs. RITTLER, F. Oct. 3, 1938, No. 28644. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1937. [Classes 104 (ii)- and 104 (iii)] An electric travelling crab is supplied with current by wheels 8, 8a running on conductors 5, 6, housed in chambers formed by U-shaped portions of the composite girder 1, 2 on which the crab runs. The conductors are insulated by insulators 3, 4, and on each conductor runs a pair of wheels 8 or 8a carried by arms 13 or 13a pivoted at 12, 12alpha to cross arms on insulating members 10, 11 extending through a slot in the girder and supported by a frame 14 depending from wheels 9, 9a running on the girder. Current passes from the wheels 8. 8a through arms 13, 13a and conductors 15, 15a to connecting plugs 16.
