Abstract

500,245. Loose-leaf binders. KAUFMANN, P. May 18, 1938, No. 14809. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1937. [Class 146 (i)] A device for holding looseleaves comprises a base b with a resilient sheet-metal member a attached thereto and having means for releasably securing the free end of the member a when it is bent into arch shape, the member a returning to its completely-open position when released. In one form, the securing means comprise a tongue c on the base b adapted to engage a slot o or slots near the free end of the member a, but pins may be provided on the tongue c to engage holes in the member a as an alternative. To facilitate manipulation of the member a it may be provided with a slot, or projection, or corrugations giving a better grip thereof. The parts a, b, c may be integral with one another and one or more members a may be formed on one base b. Flanges or holes may be provided on the base b for its attachment to a carrying member.
