Abstract
500,056. Drop-side cots. SANDFORD, L. G., and KON-TAYN-AL, Ltd. Aug. 25, 1937, No. 23273. [Class 52 (ii)] In a drop-side cot, the drop-side slides on guide rods 3 which are secured to the corner posts by inserting the upper ends 2 of the guides which are downwardly bent at an angle, into corresponding holes in the posts, and providing means, e.g. eyes 6 and nuts 7, for detachably securing the lower ends of the guide rods. The locking means for the drop side comprises a recess or depression in each of the rods 3 in which is adapted to engage the end or ends of a spring-pressed sliding rod or rods 13 mounted in the lower rail of the drop side. Figs. 3 and 4 show alternative constructions. The fixed side of the cot may be secured by means similar to those used to secure the guide rods 3.
