Abstract
523,739. Bedsteads. MYER & CO., Ltd., H., and MYER, H. M. Jan. 13, 1939, No. 1206. [Class 52 (ii)] A mattress frame 4 is divided into hinged sections, two of which 4c, 4d are adjustable to form a leg-support, the free end having rollers or teeth 18, engaging in racks 17 or recesses in the bedstead frame 3, and the other end being hinged to a short section 4b fixed to the frame 3. A further section 4a is adjustable to form a back support as by levers 13, the outer ends of which are provided with rollers 15 engaging a rack 16. The hinged sections are provided with handles 10, 11, 12, which lie on the side bed-frame member 3 when the bed is to be used in flat form. A short subsidiary mattress 23 fills the gap formed when the legsection is raised.
