498,903. Cooling systems for engines. MARKUSZ, J. April 7, 1937, No. 9873. Void. Convention date, April 7, 1936. [Class 29] The diminution of flow of cooling-liquid in internal-combustion engines and other machines is indicated or announced through the movement of a balanced tank 2, Fig. 1, a float 23, Fig. 4, or an impact plate 31, Fig. 5, and the movement may release means for stopping the machine. The tank 2, Fig. 1, has an adjustable outlet 10, and the normal flow is sufficient to overfill the tank and maintain it in a lowered position. A slidable spring pressed rod 18 adapted when released to actuate an alarm or to cut-out the ignition is held in the position shown by a catch hook 21 so long as the tank is full. When the tank empties the hook is disengaged by rocking of arm 15. The tank 22 Fig. 4, has outlet holes 10a and the float may actuate an indicator 28.
