Abstract

498,161. Bearings. ASHWORTH, ROSS, & CO., Ltd., and MILLS, R. A. Aug. 13, 1937, No. 22261. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] A rocker bearing for the load platform of weighing apparatus comprises a horned member 8, Fig. 1, in which is located, by means of a vertical pin 10, the bearing block 8c resting on the load knife-edge of the weighing lever 9, the horns 8b of the member constituting a support for a pair of circular rings 7, carrying a rod 6 of circular cross-section on which is directly mounted the verge or stool 5 of the platform 4. The rings make point contact with the horns 8b and rod 6, and may be rotated to provide new bearing points. The horned member may have inwardlydirected horns 8a as shown in Fig. 3, the verge or stool 5 having a single downward extension passing between the horns.
