Abstract

497,132. Vehicle wheels. KOOISTRA, JUN., 13. April 21, 1938, No. 11966. [Class 144 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXI] The detachable rim 1 is secured directly to the brake-drum 6 by means of pins 7 which are moved into engagement with apertured lugs 3 on the rim by means of cams 13 on a ring 12 fitted with handles 18. The pins are normally retracted by springs 8, and the ring 12 locked in its operative position by means of a spring-pawl 19. A lock 21, preferably operated by the ignition-key of the vehicle, may be provided to prevent unauthorized release of the pawl 19.
