496,554. Batteries. NUKIYAMA, D. May 28, 1937, No. 14842. [Class 53] The active material of an accumulator plate consists of a mixture of litharge or yellow oxide of lead and coconut charcoal. From two to four per cent of the charcoal is used, the materials being made into a paste with sulphuric acid and applied to a grid.
