737,290. Batteries. SOC. DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION. April 14, 1953 [May 6, 1952], No. 10185/53. Addition to 704,461. Class 53. [Also in Group XXII] A negative electrode for an alkaline accumulator is made by first compressing and then sintering a mixture of copper powder and iron powder. The sintering is performed in a neutral or reducing atmosphere, e.g. nitrogen or hydrogen, and in the latter case the iron powder may be replaced by iron oxide or other reducible iron compound. Specification 735,793 is referred to.
