Abstract

496,456. Affixing buttons, press studs, &c. ZELLWEGER, R., and MEZZADRI, E. April 12, 1938, No. 11188. [Class 43] [Also in Group XXV] Buttons, press-stud parts, &c. are detachably affixed to garments &c. by means of an undulated spiral or circular pin. The pin 6 is preferably attached to a base 1 of the same diameter as the convolutions of the pin, and having a neck 2 to accommodate a buttonhole. The button, badge, &c. 5, is attached to the base 1. The face of the base may be shaped to fit the undulations of the pin as at 1<1>, Fig. 4. To prevent the button turning and thereby becoming detached, it may be provided on its periphery, with a slidable wire ring 20. Alternatively, the button may be attached to its base through corrugated clutchlike members 21, 22, so that the button is normally free to rotate, but can be gripped rigidly for attachment or detachment.
