Abstract

496,182. Heating air. NEWLIN, H. J. April 14, 1938, No. 11455. [Class 64 (i)] Air is drawn by a fan 24 over the sides of a stove 5 on the wall of a room and through a pipe 19 surrounding the flue 6, and is distributed to the room through a conduit 23 formed by walls 14 around the pipe 19. The fan is placed in a chamber 21 in the roof and delivers the hot air drawn up the pipe 19, together with cold air drawn in, through a passage 30 into the distributing conduit 23 through a casing 25 around the end of the pipe. The relative quantities of hot and cold air supplied are regulated by a thermostatically controlled hinged flap 27. The stove is supported by rails resting upon beams in the walls. Air for combustion is taken from the pipe 19. The air may be humidified by overflow water from a water seal 40 at the top of the chimney.
