Abstract
495,094. Electric - lamp holders. SIMAL, A. Feb. 1, 1937, Nos. 2911, 2912, and 2913. Void. Convention dates, Jan. 31, 1936, Nov. 23, 1936, and Jan. 26, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] A lamp holder is provided with lateral sockets or other means for linking up a number of lamps as in Fig. 15. As shown in Fig. 1, the holder is provided with two pairs of sockets b and is suspended by a ring d. The supply leads may enter one holder axially and the other lamps be supplied serially from it by means of linked plugs inserted in the sockets. Fig. 3 shows a two-part holder with inclined sockets b. In Figs. 7 and 9, a screw holder v<1> has its terminals b<1> connected with pairs of sockets t<1>. The lamp holder, say of the bayonet fastening type, may be provided with plugs as in Fig. 17, or with lateral plugs and sockets as in Fig. 18. In the latter case, a series of holders may be placed in serial connection by intermediate units consisting of combined plugs and sockets. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 26, the lateral connections are made by leads direct to the terminals 6 of the screw socket, the leads being clamped in grooves in the plate 2 by means of the cap 3 and nut and bolt 7.
