Abstract

494,996. Refrigerating. TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATUREN FABRIK GES., A. Nov. 23, 1937, No. 32243. Convention date, Aug. 3. [Class 29] Compression systems.-Two or more compression systems combined so that the condenser of the low temperature system is cooled by the evaporator of another system are arranged compactly for common drive from a single motor 2, and the low temperature medium is air-cooled in a preliminary cooler 15 before entering the condenser. The compressor 3 for the high temperature medium (methyl chloride) delivers to an air-cooled condenser 7 and receiver 8 whence the medium passes through an expansion valve 11, controlled by a thermal element 21 on some part of the low temperature circuit and by the suction pressure, to the evaporator coil 10. The condenser of the low temperature circuit, in which propane is used, is in heat exchange with this evaporator and the condensate is collected in a receiver 16 which supplies the evaporator proper 18. An oil separator 14 is located on the discharge side of the low temperature compressor 4. The machines are assembled in a cabinet intended for laboratory use.
