Abstract

494,826. Vacuum - cleaner nozzles; pipe joints. LINKE, P. May 4, 1938, No. 13362. Convention date, March 4. [Classes 8 (i) and 99 (i)] The suction branch 5 of a vacuum cleaner is flattened at the end 4, which is formed with a bearing 3 in a recess on one side of the nozzle foot, about which bearing it swivels ; the upper face coacts with a cap 8 having a packing 13 and an auxiliary thread nozzle 23. The cap is screwed to the nozzle foot. Packing is provided for the bearing 3 and for the lateral ends of the suction branch. The nozzle 23 is closed at its inner end when the suction branch is in its upper position. A shallow recess 27 is formed in the front face of the foot and intersecting grooves in the face loosen threads &c. from the surface, which are drawn into the nozzle.
