Abstract
494,668. Frictional pocket igniters. LOWENTHAL, B. March 25, 1937, No. 8904. [Class 75 (iii)] In an igniter in which a wick-cap carrier a is mounted on the spindle e of the friction-wheel f and is opened by a spring (not shown) on depressing a spring-pressed lever h, the parts a, h are of inverted-U-shaped section and pass over a frame g, which is made by bending a single piece of sheet metal and carries the spindles e, i. As shown, a flat member l is secured to the underside of the lever h for engaging under the carrier a in the closed position, the wick-cap b being slidable in a tube b<1> against a spring c. Instead of, or in addition to, employing the member l either or both the top wall and the side walls of the lever may abut against the corresponding wall or walls of the carrier a to retain the latter in the closed position. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 350,742, 372,099, 378,356, and 379,532.
