Abstract

494,313. Liquid - pressure engines. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LANGLEY, T. W. April 23, 1937, No. 11732. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A pump for grease, e.g. for supplying bearings, comprises several pumping units, each having two pistons 5, connected by a rod 6 passing through a partition 4. The outer faces of the pistons act on grease, which is supplied through pipes 8, and is discharged through pipes 9, while the chambers 2, 3 beneath the pistons 5 are supplied with pressure oil circulated by a pump. The oil is distributed by a piston valve 19, controlling inlet passages 13 and discharge passages 15 leading to a common discharge 16. The valve is held in its extreme positions by a spring-detent, and is operated by the pistons 5 by means of a spring-pressed rod 23 passing through the valve. Alternatively the oil may be distributed by hand-operated valves 49, 50.
