Abstract
494,163. Bed-settees. ARNETT, H. April 20, 1937, No. 11228. [Class 52 (ii)] A convertible bed-seat comprises three rectangular sections a, b, and c, Fig. 2, of sufficient depth to contain spring interiors, which are hinged at their longer sides e, el to form a seat with the sections folded on top of one another, or a bed with the sections unfolded. The edges of the sections forming the top front edge a<x> of the seat and the uppermost transverse frames of the bed are "sprung" to form a yielding support, and the folding or unfolding can be assisted by springs i. The three sections have feet a4, b<4>, c4 and the feet a<4>, b<4> fit into cavities in the opposite section on folding. Alternatively collapsable legs h, h<1> may be provided, Fig. 5 (not shown). The lowest section c may be attached to a back f<2> and side arms f, Fig 7, or the back and sides may be mounted on the top section a.
