Abstract
493,889. Sifting-apparatus. SIMON, Ltd., H., FREROTTE, A., and PERMENTIER, P. R. DE. June 19, 1937, Nos. 17142 and 18411. [Class 117] In a sieving machine through the sieve of which upward air currents pass and carry light particles into troughs disposed over the sieve, aspiration is applied within the troughs to withdraw the light particles. In the form shown, groups of troughs g are disposed above and transverse to the vibratory sieve a and each group is connected by a duct n to an exhaust main o into which the liftings drawn into the troughs are carried by the air currents. The troughs form the sole exit for the lifting and the air above the sieve. Their cross-section tapers from one side of the sieve to the other and they are hinged so that they may be raised for sieve inspection. The framework of the machine may be hollow to form ducts serving as air passages and there may be a byepass enabling some air to reach the upper side of the screen without passing through it. The air supplied to the underside of the screen may be cleaned and conditioned as regards temperature and moisture content.
