[Class 135] [Also in Group XXI] In an extinguisher of the kind charged with carbon-dioxide or the like and provided with a valve a which normally is held closed by the pressure within the extinguisher and by a spring m, the stem c of the valve is engaged by a yoke d. The limbs of the yoke are pivoted by pin-and-slot connections g, f, to bell-crank levers h which are pivoted at i and are interconnected by a yoke k. When the yoke k is swung anticlockwise, Fig. 2, the yoke d is moved in guides e to open the valve a. The yoke k has an eye l for the attachment of a rod or other remote control. The valve incorporates a frangible safety disc t.
