Abstract

Zein is intimately mixed with formaldehyde, or a compound yielding formaldehyde, and cured. The zein may be mixed with formaldehyde solution in a dough mixer, plastified between rolls at a temperature below 65 DEG C. partly cured under pressure, e.g. at 100-105 DEG C., and finally baked at atmospheric pressure, e.g. at 60-90 DEG C. Plasticizers, lubricants and pigments may be added.ALSO:Zein is intimately mixed with formaldehyde, or a compound yielding formaldehyde, and cured.
