492,195. Mounting axle gears. ZAVODY TATRA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST PRO STAVBU AUTOMOBILU A ZELEZNICNICH VOZU. March 22, 1937, No. 8374. Convention date, March 26, 1936. [Classes 79 (ii), 79 (iii), and 79 (iv)] In a motor vehicle having a central longitudinal frame member and swinging halfaxles, the gear casing of the rear axle is elastically mounted between upper and lower arms of a forked extension of the frame member. The central chassis tube 1 is connected at the rear end to a sleeve 2 which is extended in upwardly and downwardly cranked arms 3, 4, the arm 4 being further forked in a horizontal plane. The axle-gear casing 6, with a rubber member 7 interposed, is bolted to the arm 3, whilst lateral projections 8 of the casing surrounded by rubber sleeves 8a engage bearing eyes on the arms 4. A transverse suspension spring 5 may be bolted to the arm 3. The axes of the half-axle casings and axle shafts may be slightly inclined in a horizontal plane so that the rear wheels converge towards the front of the vehicle.
