[Class 74 (ii)] In a knitting-machine for knitting a thread, &c. comprising one or but a few needles, 5, 6 and continuously-operating thread feeding devices 10, spring-like tension equalizing devices 22, 23 are fitted to allow the uniformly-fed threads 7, 8 to pass to the needles with fluctuating speed adapted to suit the varying speed at which they are taken up in the course of knitting. In further examples, the rate of feed of the threads 7, 8 is varied by the use of non-circular feed rollers at 10 or by feeding the threads, after they have passed through a brake device, by two adjustable pegs which project at right-angles from and eccentrically of a flat circular disc.
