Abstract

490,636. Stamping or forging press. WOODHEAD & SONS, Ltd., J., and SANDERS, T. H. Oct. 20, 1937, No. 28535. [Class 83 (iv)] Pairs of co-operating dies e4 are mounted on a wheel periphery which can be rotated to bring any desired pair under a press head h for actuation. There may be a number of die carrying wheels on one machine shaft together with a corresponding number of press heads. The turning round of the die wheel may be done by foot lever and ratchet or chain wheel or rack and pinion operated by a hydraulic motor. Another form of press, Fig. 8, comprises two die wheels operated from a common press head h by lever t or in another construction, Fig. 6 (not shown), a press head may be at each end of the leaf spring l to operate on a similar pair of die-carrying wheels. A locking pin p holds-the wheel where required.
