Abstract

490,204. Locking-devices for photographic shutters. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 13, 1937, No. 20251/38. Convention date, May 12, 1936. Divided out of 490,061. [Class 98 (i)] The delay action mechanism of a photographic shutter is prevented from being set prior to the setting of the actual shutter mechanism by a latch device which is released directly by the shutter master member upon operating the shutter tensioning lever 1 is the release trigger and 2 the tensioning lever for the shutter. The lever 2 causes a pin 3 to move in a slot 4 in the master member 5 and turn the latter about its pivot 6 to tension a spring 7. A latch 9 on the release 1 engages a shoulder 10 on the master member. The latter acts on the shutter blades through a crank 11, hook 13 and ring lug 14. The delay action mechanism comprises a gear train 15 and a spring drum 16 which is tensioned by a ring 19 and setting lever 18. Both normal and delayed exposures may be made by the trigger 1. A latch 20 pivotally mounted at 21 on the shutter plate 22 is spring-urged so that its hook 24 engages a notch 25, and when the shutter is untensioned the ring 19 is prevented from being moved. A downwardly projecting lug 26 lies in the path of a lug 27 on the master member 5. When the shutter is tensioned, the lugs engage and the latch 20 is raised and permits the delay action mechanism to be tensioned.
