Abstract

489,407. Overhead conductor crossings &c. SPENCER, L. C. June 28, 1937, No. 17939. Convention date, June 26, 1936. [Class 104 (iii)] An overhead conductor crossing or frog comprises a main plate 11 having means for securing a number of trolley wires 13 thereto, a runner member or members 14, 15, and wire seating or guiding means 12 detachably secured to the plate 11, the guides 12 being positioned between 11 and 14 or 15. To provide a smooth approach, armoured approach members 25 are secured to the wires 13. The guides 12 may have longitudinal grooves to position the wires, and flanges 20 for securing them to the plate 11. The plate 11 has recesses 17 on its underside to position the wires, and a central opening at which the wires may terminate. Other forms of the invention are a cross-over and a frog.
