[Class 116] [Also in Groups XI and XIII] Beverages are maintained at the required temperature and are dispensed by an apparatus comprising a partly transparent liquid container 1 having a conical throat 3 which is secured within a chamber 5 through which heating or cooling medium is circulated by way of pipes 17, 16. The container seats on a packing-ring 8 and is secured by a nut 7 screwed on the throat and bearing against the base of the chamber 5 through a second packing-ring 9. A fitting 11 slidable on an extension 10 of the nut, carries handles 12 and a pin 13 so that on lifting the fitting 11 as by a cup applied to the handles 12, the pin 13 raises a ball-valve 15 thereby allowing liquid to be discharged from the container into the cup. In a modification the chamber 5, Fig. 3, has a conical seat 28 to receive a similarly-shaped base 29 of the container, the heat transfer taking place through the seatings 28, 29. In a further modification, the container rests on an #-section packing-ring in the chamber 5, a spring-pressed gland being mounted on the throat 3 to secure a second packing-ring between the throat and the base of the chamber 5. In each modification the same kind of dispensing fitting may be employed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the container may be made of glass, ceramic, or artificial material, with at least a vertically extending transparent strip to facilitate the reading of the liquid level, which may be controlled by a float valve, and describes an electrically heated support for the container. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
