[Class 135] In order to increase the efficiency and reduce the power required to supply the fluid pressure to a jet tube relay in which the jet tube moves relatively to one or more receiving apertures, the cross-sectional area of the outlet 2 of the jet tube is made less than that of the receiving aperture 3 or of each of such apertures where more than one are provided. The aperture 3, Fig. 1, is about twice the area of the jet tube 2. Pressure medium near the jet is sucked in as shown bv the arrows when the resistance in the conduit 4 is small, but when this resistance increases the jet spreads and maintains pressure over the whole of the aperture. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the relay may be used to control physical conditions. Fig. 1 (Cancelled) shows a jet tube 10 carried by a bracket 11 mounted in trunnions 12. The outlet of the jet tube is surrounded by an oil catcher 18. Graphs show that the volumetric efficiency, i.e. the proportion of fluid received in the apertures 15, and the pressure regain or the ratio of the pressures in the receiving and delivery conduits are a maximum when the ratio of the diameters of these conduits is 0À8. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
