Abstract

Dicyandiamidine phosphate is made by adding solid dicyandiamide to 50 per cent phosphoric acid and heating to 100 DEG C. If 60 per cent phosphoric acid is used a melt is formed which solidifies on cooling. If 25 per cent phosphoric acid is used and the solution cooled to 0 DEG C. the bulk of the phosphate crystallizes out and the remainder can be obtained by evaporation.
