Abstract
486,068. Discharge apparatus. EGYESULT IZZOLAMPA ES VILLAMOSSAGI R. T. July 26, 1937, No. 20599. Convention date, July 24, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] A getter pellet for a thermionic valve and other discharge apparatus with metal envelopes is volatilized by means of an insulated heating - resistance. The resistance preferably consists of a, tungsten wire 1 wound in bifilar fashion into an involute or other spiral as shown The ends of the wire are turned over to form terminals 2a and 2b projecting through the bottom of a tray 4 in which the wire is enclosed. The getter pellet 5 is pressed on to the wire and covered with a grid 6. The insulation may be ceramic material burnt on to the wire. One of the terminals 2a, 2b can be connected to one of the cathode leads and one to the metal envelope of the tube, and a fuse adapted to be blown after the getter material is evaporated, connected in series with the wire.
