486,038. Loud-speakers. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. Nov. 30, 1936, No. 32804. Convention date, July 4, 1936. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 18, 1937.] [Class 40 (iv)] In a public address system for radiating or directing sounds covering substantialy the speech or music frequency range and including sets of loud-speakers mounted vertically apart from each other, the loud-speaker units of the sets are provided with one or more deflecting members which serve to deflect downwardly the sounds of higher frequency. As shown inclined deflecting members 23 are associated with openings in a member 22 in which the loudspeakers are mounted. The member 22 is such that the axes of the loudspeakers are inclined downwardly and the members 23 may be adjustable. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a single frustoconical deflecting member is provided for a set of loud-speakers and isolating baffles are disposed between the individual loud-speakers of the set.
