Abstract

484,135. Coats. McGREEVY, G. H., and McGREEVY, F. Feb. 13, 1937, No. 4347. [Class 141] A storm-proof coat having an undivided front portion 10 is provided with a pleated gusset 25 in the centre of the skirt part of the front portion, the lower interior edge of the gusset being preferably cut-away as at 31. The coat is formed with a military type of collar which is suitably lined, and the right-hand shoulder of the coat is provided with a flap 32 which overlaps the upper part 33 of the front of the coat, and is secured thereto by a press stud 34 to prevent the ingress of rain to the interior of the coat. The coat is formed with a donning opening, and fastening means either at the side, (as shown), or at the back. According to the Provisional Specification, the coat is fastened by a belt formed by extensions provided on the edges of the donning opening, the extension of the underlapping portion being passed through a slot in the back or side of the coat. Further, the sleeves of the coat are provided with wind cuffs, and connected to the body of the coat by a double thickness of material, and a double thickness of material is also provided on the inside of the elbow part of the sleeve, and at the shoulders.
