[Class 140] [Also in Group IX] A pulley or conveyer belt comprises glass fibres in the form of single fibres, strands, matted or woven fabric. The fibre may be embedded in a pliable material such as latex, rubber, or rubberoid. Forms described are : (1) a plurality of superposed layers of glass-fibre woven cloth impregnated with and embedded in the pliable substance ; (2) woven cotton or flax fabric alternating with sections of glasswool fibres and embedded in the pliable substance; the glass fibres may extend lengthwise of the belt in parallel relation, each fibre being embedded in the rubber &c. ; (3) layers of glass fibres spaced apart or arranged in strands, groups or cords alternating with layers of fabric of glass or other fibres and embedded in rubber ; (4) superposed rows composed of a series of individual glass fibres arranged parallel and longitudinally of the belt, if desired, alternating with rows of glass fibres and threads arranged transversely and embedded in rubber.
