[Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XI] In a domestic cooking-stove having, above the main oven, an auxiliary compartment 11 serving, for example, as a hot cupboard or for grilling and toasting, the compartment 11 is fitted with a door 3 pivoted about a horizontal axis 15 spaced, by means of lugs 6, upwardly from the lower edge of the door and inwardly from the inner face thereof to guide rods 7 slidable horizontally in apertured bosses 8, 9, the arrangement being such that the door is opened by, firstly, a linear movement in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the door when closed and, secondly, an angular movement about the pivotal axis 15. Stops 14, 17 are provided to limit the angular and the linear movements respectively. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the rods 7 are replaced by slotted strips 21 engaging over studs 24 and guided by pins 22, 23.
