[Class 56] A table for use when mottling and glazing tiles and similar articles by hand includes a travelling belt conveyer for carrying the tiles while they are being mottled, a scraping device for cleaning the edges of the tiles arranged near the delivery end of the conveyer, and a water bath and brushing device arranged in the lower part of the table for cleaning the conveyer. The conveyer 12 has its upper surface more or less flush with the table top 10 which may be constructed of slats of wood or metal, wire mesh, perforated metal plates or the like to prevent glaze from collecting on the surface. Beneath the table, a water bath 18 is mounted through which the conveyer passes, and brushes 19 are provided for removing any glaze from the conveyer. A short belt conveyer 20 is provided to carry the tiles to the conveyer 12, and a rotary or reciprocating brushing device may be provided for cleaning the tiles before they are placed in the conveyer 20. An electric motor 17 drives the conveyers, and also a scraping device which may consist of a belt 25 carrying flat strips or blades spaced apart by washers. Instead of a single conveyer 12, a pair arranged side by side and running in opposite directions may be used, the tiles being transferred from one to the other by a suitable device such as an inclined member arranged above the conveyer. The brushing and scraping devices are then arranged at the same end of the table. A stationary scraper may be used instead of the moving belt 25.
