480,427. Automatic locking devices for valves. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. Oct. 6, 1937, No. 27142. Convention date, Jan. 23. [Class 135] A control valve 7, 8 for controlling the supply of pressure fluid from a conduit 5 to a conduit 6, in for example, an air blast system for a circuit-breaker switch, is actuated by an electromagnet 2 and armature 12, which armature is coupled to the valve operating lever 10 by a spring-catch 13. With the catch in engaged position the valve is operated to open by energizing the electromagnet but in the event of the pressure in the line 5, which acts on a bellows 15, falling below a predetermined minimum a lever 14 is actuated by a spring 16 to trip the catch 13 and thus break the coupling between the armature 12 and the valve. lever 10 and so prevent the opening of the valve. Any other operating member for the control valve may be employed such as a pushbutton, cam-shaft, or pneumatic piston, and the coupling catch 13 may be actuated at a predetermined high pressure, instead of, or as well as, at a lowpressure.
