Abstract
479,531. Collapsable trestles. CLERK & SON, Ltd., D., and CLERK, D. E. Aug 14, 1936, No. 22483. [Class 52 (v)] In collapsable trestles of the type described in Specification 171,300, [Class 52 (v)], comprising an upright 10 having pivoted to its lower end three or more foot members 11, 12 connected by stays 15 with a slide 18 movable along the upright, the stays are joggled or offset at 22 to clear the pivot pins 19, connecting the foot members to -the upright. A stop 30 limits the upward movement of the slide at the position in which the feet are horizontal. The pivot pins are bushed by steel ferrules retained by end washers, and strengthening plates 23 are welded to the members at the pivotal connections. Each foot member has a hole 24 by which it may be spiked to the ground. The crutch 26 comprises a cranked steel plate fixed to one flange of the upright and arranged to rest on the top of the other flange. The top may be modified to take a lamp.
