Abstract

479,526. Presses. KLOCKE, W. Aug. 5, 1936, No. 21586. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group V] A toggle press is made adjustable in stroke by mounting one end of one of the toggle levers in a bearing capable of being moved transversely to the direction of movements of the press slide. As shown, a shaft 36, crank 35, and connecting-rod 33 transmit motion to toggle levers 22, 24. The lever 22 is pivoted at 26 in a slide 60 which can be moved laterally to the direction of stroke of the press, through the medium of hand wheel 63 and screw-and-nut gearing 62. Thereby the length of stroke is varied. To alter the position of the press slide 61 longitudinally a wedge 48 is operated by means of a screw 50.
